Hot Handbags Trends for 2010

By: Peggy
February 07, 2010

This is about the time of year I start to get bored with my winter stuff and start dreaming of sunnier days, as well as spring styles. I am in love with the handbag trends of 2010 and can't wait to try a few out! Here are some great styles to shop for:

Natural colors like ivory and nude are back. But this year, you'll see them in the form of woven fabrics such as rope, linen, raffia and exotic skins. Also, look for natural details and organic materials.

Long strap bags are a must. This year they're not oversized so the good news is they'll be easy to carry. Get one of these with a chain strap and you'll be spot on the trend.

Mini bags are a favorite of mine. These come in all styles - clutch, long strap, shopper, etc. They're perfect for travelling since they easily fit in a larger travel bag and can hold jewelry. Get yours in a cool print, bright color, or with embellishments like jewels and beads.

Pouches are basically round sacks with handles. These also come in all sizes. The mini pouches are so cute! I'm not sure I like the larger ones, however, because they remind me of slouchy bowling bags. How can you find anything in one of those!

Fringe! Will it ever go away? This year we're talking lots of fringe - as in covering the entire bag.

Combinations of these trends will abound - the more the better! In fact, I dare you to find a long strap, mini pouch with fringe in neutral-colored raffia! Good luck!
