If you have become a victim of sun poisoning, then use aloe vera. Pure aloe is the best! You don’t want to use any products that contain alcohol. This will burn and dry up your skin. We need to replenish and give our skin a drink.
1. Start by applying damp cloths to help reduce the heat and lessen the pain. 2. Try soaking in a bathtub of cool water. Make sure it’s soap free water. You don’t want to stimulate your skin, just calm it down. 3. Next gently pat dry -- no rubbing! 4. If that stinging sensation is still there, then it’s time to climb into the kitchen cabinets and get out that white vinegar. You can use a soaked towel or for faster results, get a spray bottle. Fill it up halfway with water, the other half with white vinegar and spray it onto your body. Let it air dry before putting on any clothes. The acetic acid in the vinegar will help balance out the pH of your skin. It will reduce the inflammation and help ease the pain. 5 - If the smell is too much for you, than try another product in your kitchen…Got Milk? Soak cotton balls or even wash clothes in cold milk and then apply it to your skin. It helps take the bite out of the burn.
Avoid makeup at all costs. Your pores need to breathe; this will cut off their air passages. The heat projecting from your body will also melt the makeup off your face. Your pores will be open and clogging them with make-up is terrible for your complexion.
The next time you are about to step out into the sun, make sure you are prepared. My friends are always asking what the secret is to keeping my skin looking young and vibrant… I always say “I wear sun block every day!”
