Your Personal Makeover: 3 Easy Steps

By: Maret
February 07, 2010

Makeup is one of those things woman think you either do correctly or incorrectly. Not true. Makeup is really not that structured. But women who find out I am a makeup artist still want (even expect) me to judge their work, asking me, "Am I doing a good job applying my makeup?" Rarely do I ever have a problem with how a woman applies her makeup. I am convinced that woman ask for my approval because they actually want me to give them permission to change. So to all you woman who want to know "How does my makeup look?" I say, "you are doing a great job but if you want to have some fun for a change I have a challenge for you!"

Here are three things you can do that will add excitement to your daily makeup routine.

  • Using a black eyeliner pencil, line the inside of your upper lash line. Yes, I am talking about the space under your upper lashes. Draw the line from the outer corner and continue it along to the inner corner. This technique should not replace mascara or how you normally wear eyeliner but should be used in addition to your daily routine. Apply it before your mascara and watch your eyes pop, pop, pop!
  • What is your best facial asset, your eyes, cheeks, lips? Choose one and go to the cosmetic counter and purchase a hot, bright, almost obnoxious color. Lips or cheeks colors can just be applied normally, but if it is eyeshadow, you may want to recruit help from the makeup artist behind the counter.
  • Apply lipstick color to your lips and dust the top of lip color with a similar eyeshadow or blush color. Matte lipsticks are hot, hot, hot! Applying powder to the top will make them look sexier and help them stay longer. You will feel like a model off the cover of European Vogue.

Okay, my recruits, take these new zippy techniques to the street. Send me a photo and let me know the reaction you get from your friends.
