Spring Trend: Hydraluminous

By: Jacob Makeup
March 08, 2009

Fresh, dewy, glossy, wet! Spring’s Hydraluminous trend is a favorite among makeup artists and makeup wearers alike. It’s a focus on natural, young, healthy looking skin. The dryness of winter takes a backseat to what we saw at the runway shows for Vivienne Westwood, Pucci, and Blumarine. The models had this gorgeous glossy glow!

Achieving this look is about playing off the effects of light. Wet, creamy textures, sheer foundations, highlighters and glosses, even skin glosses, are at the top of the shopping list this spring and summer.

Lightly used and applied, mineral based powders and liquid foundations with a satin finish give flawless fresh and natural coverage. This is a look that goes perfectly, any time of the day, with any eye or lip trend, for any age and with any outfit!

MyBBF Makeup Advisor Scott Andrew shares how he achieves some extra shine in his blog Shiny Little Details. He reveals so many amazing tricks in it!

And to take full advantage of this look, check out Jacob's Step By Step: Hydraluminous
