New makeup for the new year!
Every January we all start trying to make plans to achieve our goals and work on our resolutions. One easy thing you can do is revamp your makeup bag. Here are the 12 things you should have for the next 12 months.
Foundation - Do yourself a favor and get 2 foundations/tinted moisturizers. Get one to match the lightest your skin tone will be at any given point during the year, and one quite a few shades darker than you are. You will be able to use the light one when you are at you palest, and the dark one for when you are tan. You can also use the dark foundation when you are pale as a contour for under your cheekbones and jawline. You can also mix your foundations, adding a little bit of the darker one to use as an overall bronzer at anytime of year.
Powder - A translucent powder is great, this sets your liquid and cream foundations for longer wear time, and helps to reduce excess shine. The great thing about the translucent powder is it works for any skin tone ultra fair to deep dark. Also get a powder bronzer. On the days that you don't want to use foundation, you can just dust a little bronzer on and go!
Eyes - Two basic eyeshadows can do a lot for you. Have a nude or light color that compliments your eye color, to brighten and bring attention to your eyes. Also get a darker color that you can blend into the crease or use on the lid for a more dramatic look.
A gel or cream liner is great item to have because it glides on smooth and stays on strong!
A good mascara can do wonders for you even when you are wearing no other makeup, and always compliments an eyeshadow or liner look.
Blush - Cream blush is the way to go! Whatever your skin type, these blend on smooth and stay on strong giving the skin a nice natural satin finish. If you are excessively oily then go with a powder blush, mineral blushes are also great!
Lips - A neutral color lip liner is an asset because you can use it with any color gloss or lipstick. A light color gloss is great to keep a natural look, to balance out a dark eye shadow or to apply over any lipstick.
When it comes to lipstick get yourself a deeper color that compliments your skin tone, eye color, and hair color. This way you have a lip look for any occasion! (Check out the lipstick I picked out for your coloring in the article, "The Perfect Lipstick For You.")
These are 12 great essentials for the new year, and really anytime. With these basics you can add on other colors and textures at any point and be able to incorporate them with all of your basics, or if you are a simple girl then this will keep you all set until you need replenishments!
