Thick Hair During Pregnancy

By: Maret
May 13, 2009

Q. Why is my Pregnancy making my hair so thick?

A. Your hair is not getting thicker, it just seems like it is!   A normal woman loses 80 hairs per day but this amount decreases during your pregnancy.  Hormones and increased blood flow are causing your hair to look shinier, and fuller.  Unfortunately, after the birth of your baby, you may see an increase in shedding hair. This is a completely normal part of becoming a new mommy. Just another thing to clean!
