Hair Protection For Winter

By: Krishna
December 20, 2009

During the winter, your hair will be exposed to harsh weather conditions such as biting winds, and the drying effects of central heat and low temperatures. Extreme cold makes the hair brittle and dry. Central heat draws moisture from the hair and scalp.

But no need to worry, this can be fixed with a few simple things. You want to use a more intensive conditioner on your hair in the winter to fight dryness caused by the cold weather. myBBF loves Frederic Fekkai Technician Color Care Mask It will hydrate your hair without weighing it down. It is great for wavy hair. If you have oily hair, try Frederic Fekkai Shea Butter Hair Mask. It will give moisture without making your scalp produce more oil.  And for my curly girls, try Neutrogena Triple Moisture with almond oil. It will keep curls shiny and frizz-free.

In centrally heated homes, you need to use humidifiers to reduce drying effects. Also, in wet/damp weather apply mousse, gel, or spritz to keep your style in place. Remember, winter is quickly approaching, so go get the right protection.
