Baby Dandruff

By: Maret
May 13, 2009

Q. My Baby has crazy flakes of skin that come off her scalp. Is there a safe product to get rid of this nasty flake?

A. Your baby is completely normal (as long as it is just large flakes of dry skin) most babies are born with a form of eczema that they grow out of. Often this shows up in the face and scalp. The solution is in your kitchen. An hour or two before you give your baby a bath, apply olive oil to your babies scalp. You will notice a difference immediately. You may only need to repeat this step three times before the condition is gone. If time passes and you notice the scalp start to flake again, give another application of olive oil. If the olive oil does not work, your pediatrician will probably prescribe Elidel.

thanks for the advice, i'm a first-time mom and i was wondering if there was any way to get rid of that rather than just wait for her to outgrow it.
